Copenhagen
Eating
By Scandinavian standards, Copenhagen is a fairly cheap city to eat out in - although it is still expensive in comparision with Portugal, Greece or eastern Europe.
The city's budget restaurants are fiercely competitive with plenty of special offers including all-you-can-eat buffets and good value pizza, Indian and Turkish fast food joints. Look out for signs advertising spis alt du kan - all you can eat.
Try to sample some traditional Danish food such as smørrebrød and pickled herring on rye bread.
SUPERMARKETS
Buying food from a supermarket and either preparing it in the hostel kitchen or eating it in the park is always a good idea to save money. Fortunately Copenhagen has a good selection of centrally located supermarkets including the following:

Drinking
It is possible to enjoy a reasonably cheap night out in Copenhagen, especially if you take advantage of happy hours (usually starting before 8pm and lasting up till 10pm) or if you buy your drinks from the supermarket and drink them by the harbour.
