National Express has coaches to Derby from Bakewell, Birmingham, Buxton, Leeds, Leicester, London and Nottingham. Coaches stop at Morledge Bus Station. Trent Barton operates buses from Derby to Burton-on-Trent, Buxton, Manchester and Nottingham.
East Midlands Trains have trains to Crewe, Leicester, London (St Pancras), Matlock, Nottingham and Sheffield. CrossCountry Trains have trains to Birmingham, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Nottingham, Oxford, Penzance and York.
The Derbyshire Wayfarer pass allows one day's virtually unlimited bus and train travel throughout Derbyshire and includes travel to the following cities in neighbouring counties: Burton-on-Trent, Leek, Macclesfield, Sheffield and Uttoxeter. The pass costs £8.60 and is available from bus and train stations and the tourist information centre.
Although the city centre is compact enough to walk around there is a good local bus network that is run by Arriva and Trent Barton.
