SalamancaThe 13th century university in Salamanca is Spain's oldest and the city's prime attraction. In many ways Salamanca is Spain's equivalent to Oxford or Cambridge and the city has a vibrant student scene. The Salamanca's Plaza Mayor is one of the country's most vibrant central squares and makes a great place to hang out and take in the atmosphere. SegoviaThis beautiful medieval walled city is a popular destination for day-trippers from Madrid, although there is so much to see that you should consider staying overnight. One of the town's major sights is the Roman aqueduct dating from the 1st century AD. The Catedral is another must-see attraction. The main attraction, however is the Alcázar at the western end of the old town. It is reputed that Walt Disney copied the design when building the castle in Disneyland, California.
