If you are taking a ferry between Italy and Albania, Croatia or Greece, chances are that you will pass through either Bari or Brindisi in the southern Italian region of Puglia. If you have an InterRail or Eurail pass you can get a free trip to Greece departing from Brindisi.

However, if you are going to pay for a ticket, it would be a better idea to leave from Bari - which is a lot more interesting than Brindisi with a better range of cheap accommodation.
