Lake District National Park
The most scenic of England's national parks is popular with both locals and international visitors. It is famed for its lakes, which are visited by thousands of tourists, most of whom stay in the cluster of towns that include Ambleside, Coniston, Grasmere, Hawkshead and Windermere; however you can escape the crowds if you venture away from this area to lakes such as Buttermere, Crummock Water and Wastwater.
