Örebro

This city, 200km from Stockholm and 300km to Gothenburg and Oslo, is best known for its impressive 13th century castle.

Coming & Going

There are frequent trains from Örebro to Stockholm and Gothenburg. Long distance buses depart from outside the train station and go to Jönköping, Stockholm and Oslo.

Linköping

Sweden's fifth-largest city is home to Saab's aircraft manufacturing facilities, but the main attraction for most travellers is the city's large cathedral. There are also some interesting museums here.

Linköping is located close to Norrköping and Linköping can be used as a base for exploring both cities.

Coming & Going

Lindköping is located on the Stockholm-Gothenburg train line with frequent trains in both directions. Long-distance buses stop at the terminal next to the train station.

Linköping's large cathedral is one of the country's oldest and boasts a 107-metre spire.

This open-air museum depicts life in Linköping at the beginning of the 20th century. Gamla Linköping has around 60 buildings; mostly recreated homes and businesses the era.

Östergötland County Museum (Östergötlands länsmuseum)

This provincial museum is one of Sweden's largest and oldest regional museums. The museum features exhibits on prehistoric times, local history and European and Swedish art.

Norrköping

Sweden's seventh-largest city was a major industrial centre during the industrial revolution and the old factories and warehouses lining Motala Ström have been renovated creating a unique urban landscape.

Norrköping is located close to Linköping and Norrköping can be used as a base for exploring both cities.

Rådhustornet

The 68-metre-high tower above city hall is crowned by a six-metre bronze statue of St Olof. There is a viewing platform 50 metres up the tower that offers views of the city centre.
