KentThe Garden of England consists partly of London's southern suburbs but also includes historic cities like Canterbury, the channel ports of Dover and Folkstone as well as the decaying beach 'resorts' of Broadstairs and Margate. MaidstoneAlthough many people think of Maidstone as no more than an outer suburb of London, it has a pleasant historic centre with some lovely 14th centurybuildings.
