Windsor and the neighbouring town of Eton are a popular day trip from London. The main attraction is Windsor Castle where the Queen lives for six weeks each year as well as the posh Eton College, founded by Henry VI, and widely regarded as the country's most prestigious school.

Green Line bus routes 700, 701 and 702 run between London and Windsor.
Windsor has two train stations – Windsor and Eton Central station and Windsor Riverside – both stations are centrally located near Windsor Castle and the town centre. South West Trains run between London (Waterloo) and Riverside station and First Great Western runs between London (Paddington) and Windsor and Eton Central station.
In 1440 Henry VI founded Eton College and today it is widely regarded as the country's most prestigious school. Many famous people including much of the royal family have been educated here.

The English branch of Denmark's Legoland theme park is one of the most popular new attractions, particularly for families with kids. It features over 50 rides but the main attractions are the Lego models that have been constructed from over 46.5 million Lego bricks. It has over 800 model buildings include many European landmarks.

The world's oldest and largest inhabited castle is easily Windsor's star attraction and one of the most popular day trips from London. The whole complex covers five hectares and includes the royal palace, which is used regularly by the royal family, and St George's Chapel, where Henry VIII is buried. Some of the castle's highlights include paintings by Canaletto, Rembrandt and Van Dyck; Henry VIII's armour; the bullet that killed Admiral Lord Nelson; and the amazing Queen Mary's Dolls' House, which took 1,550 craftspeople three years to build.
