Destinations > Spain > Madrid > Eating & Drinking
MadridMadrid has a good range of options available for eating and drinking including plenty of affordable fast-food places as well as supermarkets. EatingIf you're eating out at a restaurant, you'll want to eat when the locals eat otherwise the place may be closed. Generally madrileños eat lunch between 2 and 4pm and dinner starts after 10pm. After buying picnic food at a supermarket, head to Parque del Retiro - Madrid's top picnic spot. DrinkingMadrid has an excellent nightlife with an extremely dense concentration of bars and cafés although you'll have to stay out really late to keep up with the locals. If you're not still up when the metro starts running again, then you're not really trying. Because there is such a large choice of bars, you're best option is to head for a particular neighbourhood and walk around until one catches your eye. Then repeat the same thing every night until you have exhausted the city. Another alternative is to ask the people working at your hostel about what is hot.
