Eating & Drinking
Stockholm - and Sweden in general - isn't a cheap place to eat out. Fortunately there are plenty of fast food joints including the ubiquitous McDonalds (a Value Meal is around SEK 40) as well as hundreds of pizza places (a large pizza should cost around SEK 40).
There are supermarkets at many tunnelbana stations, however the Rimi at Hornsgatan 138 (t-bana Hornstull) is cheaper than most.
Alcohol is very expensive in Sweden due to high taxes and the fact that it's only available from branches of Systembolaget (website www.systembolaget.se), a state-run monopoly.
Despite high prices and a highly regulated and highly taxed industry, there are some good pubs and bars in Stockholm; but most backpackers save their drinking money for cheaper countries.
