ZürichLocal TransportZürcher Verkehrsverbund (tel 0848 988 988; website www.zvv.ch) runs Zurich's excellent public transport system that consists of buses, trams and S-bahn suburban trains. A one-hour ticket valid on buses, trams and S-bahn trains in Zürich costs SFR 3.80. A 24-hour ticket, valid on buses, trams and the S-bahn, costs SFR 7.60 for the city centre or SFR 11.60 for the city centre and most suburbs. There is also an off-peak day pass that costs SFR 22 and is good for travel anywhere in the canton of Zürich after 9am. Eurailpass, SwissCard and SwissPass travel passes are valid for travel on the S-bahn network. Zurich operates a city bike programme where you can borrow a bike to explore the city free of charge. |
